The most interesting question about Happosai is:

Ten years before the start of the Manga, Genma and Soun were training
under Happosai.

Ten years before the start of the Manga, Genma and Ranma where dealing
with Ukyou.

Why didn't Happosai meet Ukyou or Ranma meet Soun?  (Remember that Soun
had never seen Ranma prior to the first chapter.)

I'm in the (extremely slow) process of "answering" this in two different
ways (Which I'm tempted to have run in parallel ;-)
