Heh, I used to think the same thing. Give it some time, you'll find
silence is NOT golden... it's not even lead.

I have found that a good way to attract C&C is to do some of it
yourself. I mean if more than two people are complaining that there
story hasn't gotten any c&c then that means they havent been doing it
themselves. Right?

Another way of generating C & C is to make your work as tacky, sick and
controversial as possible.... Look at the reaction that Nekophilia by
Uncle Fester got when it was posted here not that long ago. That kinda
thing really brings the weevils out of the pantry. :)

Been there, done that! Mousse's Fun with Fettelio and Teenage Ninja
Gecko, amd perhaps even Final Embrace and Nightmares in the Daylight.
The first two, sick and ungainly Lemons and the last two, Darkfics that
went out of their way to fill the reader with the hoplessness of it all.
The two Lemons got a total of 28 responses (the closest thing to flames
was Alpha Centarui revengeing me and BOY is he sorry ^_-) and the two
Dark fics generated 12. Still, once you rely too much on shock value,
you find that the readers who want more then a "quick" fix, look
elswehere and those who actually enjoy the shock value demand more and
more, every time you post. It's a very difficult hole to crawl out of.

Not all of it can be categorised as constructive, but it can be more
amusing than the fic itself. :)

That's what Fcasper is for ^_^
