[snip same basic point made several times]

I haven't read Slayers 1/2. In fact, I haven't read any fanfic in
ages, because I've found myself to be too busy to read even the
fanfics that people send to be personally. But I can't believe that
someone would throw a tantrum over this!

OK, but the above assumes that Ranma really *IS* out of character in
this series. Speaking as someone who HAS read Slayers 1/2, I didn't find
this to be the case. It is a comedy, and certain aspects of Ranma's
personality have been emphasized to provide humor. I don't see why that
should be objectionable, seeing how it leads to a story as funny as this
one.

If anyone wants a more extreme example of this, I wrote a story called
"Ranma Is Dead" in which *everybody* acts like an utter jerk, Ranma
included. Judging by the running poll that I have on my website, this
fic is pretty popular with my readers despite the, er, stretched
characterizations.

That said, I have to agree with what others have said, that it's
necessary to develop a thick skin when it comes to getting C&C.
Sometimes negative criticism can help to make a story better. Other
times it's of no use, in which case I think the best thing to do is to
explain to the C&Cer why what they're suggesting wouldn't be best for
your story, and move on.

BTW, Christina, please send me any future parts of your series.
