This is more or less addressed to Zen, even though the title doesn't
show.

It's a wonderfully written fanfic - Zen's stuff has a tendency to be - and
fairly long; kept me up late one night reading through the whole thing.
(Not *really* long, like 'Callers Plight' by Jorge Pratt - how can anyone
write a fanfic that long?)

It's beyond my comprehension. I think I read one of his work, and it
took me about 2 hour by scanning. I finish Bitter End in less than an
hour by scanning. That's how long it was. I think Caller's Plight is
supposed to have FF3 or FF2 elements, does it not? But I didn't find it
at all. There are just so many characters!

However, I think that Zen misrepresented Akane. Or rather, he amplified
her anger/violent feelings about a hundredfold. There was a good medical
reason for this, though, so I guess I can live with the decision.

I actually think that such anger/violent is possible if Akane can hold
them off that long, but she cannot. Somehow I don't think my reply ever
did make it... maybe part of it, I suppose. It's a well-written story,
and plausible so long as Akane could hold anger like that, but I don't
believe it is possible. I suppose that's not that bad of a stretch
compared to assuming another fiancee is enough to set Akane off the way
you described. I'll admit that I can't think of any other incident to
get her like that short of hitting her. Actually, that's the same
question that keeps A Fool's Farewell. What can Ranma do that is so
terrible to break a relationship that has seen so much worse?

I'll review the psychological aspect of it once I take a Psychology
class this year to check out the medical reason why she was able to stay
angry that long. Her anger is really not so bad compared to how angry
she is in the dougi story, as you can see she is using it amongst like
ki, but I don't believe it is possible for her to hold anger that long.
I guess being affected by this Rage Disorder does funny thing to
people...

Bad Zen. When Caroline (I'm pretty sure I did to, though I don't see
it in the notes) asked you to write a Ranma & Akane story, it's assumed
that it is going to be a happy one!

One thing I liked about this fic was Ukyou (though the way she died was one
of the worst ways she possibly could have) - her personality was amplified,
too, but in her case, it was her love and devotion to Ranma that was
increased. Not that she isn't devoted to him in the anime/manga - she is -
but in this particular story, she seems to have matured a great deal, lost
that bit of attitude that has made some people call her a 'schemer,' and is
willing to let go of Ranma if his happiness is at stake.

The trademarks of a Zen fic is that Ukyou is VERY nice. Surely you
realize that by now?

Note to Zen: WRITE CHAPTER TWO OF THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD I REALLY WANT
TO READ IT. Anyone else agree with me here? ;)

Yeah, did you ever get around finishing that, Zen? Granted, Chapter 1
is like a fanfic itself, so I guess we shouldn't assume immediate
progress. After about two years I still haven't got pass chapter 6 on
the Wanderer of Time.

Besides the fact that I don't see how Akane can react so strongly
toward another fiancee, even if it is mechs, (you think she'd just laugh
it off after seeing so many things that are as or weirder than that!),
and a minor nitpick about where Ukyou gets all the money from the
Ucchan's if Konatsu already bankrupted her shop, it's a nicely done
story. A bit harsh on Akane, but it's good nevertheless.
