 (3) Some people may be wondering what Atlantis is doing in the
Mediterranean. Well, to be serious for a moment, Plato got his measurements
wrong. TENFOLD. Since his measurements gave co-ordinates, from references
in Europe, dividing these measurements by ten gave the true location of
Atlantis. Which was in the middle of the Mediterranean. Hey, don't ask me!
Go ask Lucasarts!

This interpretation is based upon the theory that the island of Thera was
the basis for the Atlantis myth. Thera is an island that supported a
Minoan culture which was destroyed by a devastating volcanic explosion
(more powerful than Krakatoa) about 4000 or so years ago. Someone noticed
that if you take the distances given by Plato and divide by ten, you get a
location close to Thera. The island has another name which I don't remember.
