I think that they may decide to act like they are breaking up, and Ranma
could go to China. Their fathers would probably give up on ever marrying
them off, and Ranma would get a chance to cure his curse, which is
something he really wants. They could always write to each other, I
dunno... Just a suggestion

I really don't think that "The Masks We Must Wear" should be continued at
all. It strikes me as a study of the unseen dimensions of the characters
Ranma and Akane and their relationship. You explore those dimensions in a
very fulfilling way, and I am grateful that you did. Good stuffs!

Thanks for the praise. I'm glad I was able to give you a pleasant time
reading my story. Several people have mentioned a continuation, but I doubt
that anything else is needed in the canon timeline. Perhaps a sequel that
could be set after the end of the canon story might be in order, but I have
one problem there. I haven't thought up an interesting and convincing way
for Ranma and Akane to win... that is to finally induce their fathers to
give up and let them make their own choices. If I get a fun idea about that,
I may write that story sometime.
