*blink*

Ok, I missed this one. o_O; I'd wondered when/if anyone was ever going to
do that, but the Anita Blake stories don't seem to be that well known.
Guess I get to go crawl through the FFML archives and find it. ^_^;

True. Not familiar with 'em myself...

Come young Fanfic Writer.... come Read the Power of the Anita Blake Side!

*insert manical laughter type #5 here!*

Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter is a series of fantasy/fiction/horror/mystery
(and some would say romance, including me). Book #6 of the series 'The
Killing Dance' had a shipping date of May 5th (my local bookstore has it
on reserve for me, it still hasn't arrived). The author, Laurell K.
Hamilton currently has an agreement to write 3 more books (at least) in
this series.  It's, IMNSHO, Grrrreaaat!

A brief overview of it's 'Love Triangle From Hell':

	Contestant #1: Jean-Claude. Vampire. Master Vampire of the City of St. Louis.
Sees nothing wrong in using fear/torment/torture to help keep folks in line, but at least
he doesn't do it to get his jollies. At least 200 years old. Is actively chasing after
Anita, has told her that he loves her (as much as he's able to love anyone/thing).

	Contestant #2: Richard Zeeman. Werewolf. The #2 in the Werewolf pack of St.
Louis. Christian. School Teacher. A true Boy Scout (Idealistic/Foolish). Is also
chasing after Anita Blake, but (unlike Jean-Claude) would probably leave her alone if
she asked.

	Contestant #3: Anita Blake. Necromancer (raises the dead for a living - no pun
intended). Legal Vampire Executioner for three state area. Loves Richard; but feels his
idealism is going to get him killed. Desires Jean-Claude; but thinks he's too pragmatic/
evil, also she's a Christian so that's a bit of barrier right there. Owns a sawed-off
shotgun (illegal, loaded with silver shot), a two-shot .38 derringer, 4 silver knives (all
balanced for throwing, is missing 2 of them - is having them replaced), and two 9mm
semi-automatics carrying silver Glaser(sp?) safety rounds).

Note: Glaser Safety Rounds (not sure on spelling) are nice little toys designed when:
	A) You don't want your bullets to go through a wall and hit nice Mrs. Engleman
next door in appartment 55;
	B) You want whatever your shooting at brought *Down*.
The way it does this is by, basically, fragmenting when it hits something. This tends
to keep it from going through things like walls and hitting the people next door. It
also tends to cause *real* big exit wounds. I can only see two problems with these
babies:
	A) Against body armor they're going to suck wind;
	B) Hard to get living prisoners. If the round hits a limb, you're pretty safe
to assume instant amputation. If a round hits you in the torso, chances are you'll be
losing at least one vital organ and will probably die.

The only thing better than a Miyu/Blake crossover would be a
Miyu/Blake/Vicki Nelson crossover  :)

Uhm, who's Vicki Nelson? I've never heard of those stories.

Nah, you wanna get twisted, throw Tannim from SERRAted Edge into the mix.

Granted, he tends to deal with elves, dragons, and kitsune more regularly
than vampires, but I could still picture him getting involved in something
like that. :)

I'd think it'd be better to call Diana in on this one, myself...

Or perhaps not. <ducking>

You know I never even though of bringing in the Lackey's until
you folks brought it up. :)

But now that you have....

<Insert Darth Vader's breathing here!>

Thanks,
