Think About this.

I director walking down the road wondering where he's going to get his actors.
Not many people came to his auditions, those that did were good but they lacked
a certain chemestry and for two roles chemestry was very important.

The director walked aimlessly around when suddenly his thoughts were interrupted
by a "Ranma no BAKA!!!" and a prone figure who had suddenly appeared in front of
him.

"Stupid tomboy why did you do that for." the man on the ground replied

"As if you need to ask you pervert." the woman yelled back at him.

The director looked back and forth between the two people, albeit that they were
young but the chemestry that had lacked in other had shown up in these two.  He
had found his Sir Benedick and Lady Beatrice.

For all of you that are unaware of the Much Ado About Nothing story line it goes
like this.  The prince Don Pedro and his entourage (which includes Don John his
bastard brother *evil guy*, sir Benedick, and the guy who I can't remember his
name.) They come to the town where Leonato is the mayor and they stay for a
while.

What happens is that Ryoga's character (I'll use this because I can't think of
anything else to call him) falls in love with Leonato's daughter Hero.  The
prince Don Pedro tries to get them together.  While his brother Don John tries
to cause trouble and succedes for a while.

While this is happening there is an on going fued between the Lady Beatrice and
sir Benedick which however is not as violent as the normal Akane and Ranma and
the insults are more inventive.  The one point that they do agree upon is that
they both would prefer to remian in bachlorhood.  Beatrice at one point says "I
would rather hear a dog bark at a crow than hear a man swear he loves me."

One of the elements in this play is that the other characters try to get them
together and whether they succed or not, I'll let you read the play.

Actually, something like this was goung to be my first post to the list.
Just the Much Ado though, not the Nouses Off part. However I've gotten
bogged down with recreating a novel that vanished of a disk from scratch
and other RL disasters, plus mt recent inability to write on one project
for more than five minutes at a time (I kind of feel like a hummingburd
at the keyboard.) I think the idea of combining the three is a great
one. Go for it. My "Much Ado About Ranma" is supposed to turn out to be
actually produceable, I even have a group locally who want to try it
when I finish it (Shakespeare in the Park meets Ranma !/2) With the
characters sort of falling in and out of Shakespearean mode. I have no
idea when I'll finish this though. I also have been working on a Ranma
version of "Taming of the Shrew" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream", but
Much Ado is my favorite comedy so I planned on finishing that one first
(although at this rate I'll end up posting several other projects
first.) I haven't worked on it for several weeks, I think I;m still on
Act II, Scene 1.

BTW the Eddings quote made me think... how about a Belgariad/Ranma
crossover? Ranma is Garion, Akane is Ce'Nedra, Dr. Tofu as Durnik,
Kasumi as Polgara, It wouldn't be the easiest crossover, but it could be
very funny (or very dumb... or both).
