Akane.

Let's be fair, folks.

Ukyou is also fairly considerate of Ranma's wishes not to marry; she's not
trying to force him to marry her - just to convince him NOT to marry
Akane. Trying to convince him she's the better choice, in the LONG run.

Her stategy is better, maybe, but she is no more willing to let Ranma go
with someone else than the others. Basically this is the same thing as
forcing him to marry her, just by process of elimination instead of
direct.

In fact, of the girls hitting on Ranma, Shampoo rates more in the Kodachi
level. She's persistent, does not comprehend the words 'no' or 'go away',
is willing to go to -any- lengths to eliminate her competition... Ukyou

If that was true they would be dead. Akane for sure. Faulty premise.

and Akane at least have senses of fair play, and Ukyou will at least think
things through before pounding her opponent as flat as an okonomiyaki.

Actually much of the time she doesn't think things through. Given the
time she will but under stress she goes to violent extremes damned
quickly. Hell, just take her going after Ranma on her first appearance.
Once the situation was revealed she had _no_ reason to attack him other
than her own emotion distraught, which in my book doesn't cut it as a
valid excuse, yet she did.

Additionally, other than the Reversal Amulet storyline, has Ranma ever
expressed any interest in Shampoo other than saving her life when she's in
trouble (when Bakeneko was transforming Shampoo permanently into a cat to
be his bride comes to mine)? And note that Ranma, with his strong sense
of honor, will rescue -any- girl in distress? Of all his suitors, the
only two he's ever consistently expressed any feelings for are Ukyou and
Akane.

Akane yes, Ukyo no. He's shown her nothing but friendship. Anything she
pushes that up to is her own delusion. Ranma has also shown friendship to
Shampoo at times. Actually, comparing the best incidents of the two
girls, secret sauce verses reversal jewel, my vote for more expression of
love (though not a true expression) goes to the reveral jewel. Remember,
Ukyo was crying, in other words in distress, when the big promise to take
car of her took place.
