Well, you could always show him some episodes of "Nurse Angel Ririka SOS"
The series that convinced me that there indeed is bad anime.
As Magical Girls series go, "Nurse Angel" is at least as good as Sailor
Moon at its best. It has good (for TV) animation, a consistent and
coherent overall plot, one where the fights are all nicely consistent as
well, none of this gross one episode, useless the next stuff that Sailor
Moon is so fond of.
I don't deny that certain episodes of the series are pretty boring and
could easily be tossed without any regrets, but there are far fewer such
episodes than in any of the Sailor Moon series I've watched.
All-in-all I'd recommend "Nurse Angel" to any one who liked "Sailor
Moon". And if you can get hold of the subtitles, look carefully at the
words to the opening song - they're great!
Hmm- have to add in a definite agree! to this- Ririka and Seiya are so
cute... ^_^ and when Dewey comes in, it's very good- the quality is almost
always better than Sailor Moon, and its fundamental idea of healing is a
nice thing too... SM is nice, but it does suffer from too much filler- the
reason I like the manga better- but I digress. Hmm- the song itself is
really good too- it gets stuck in my head so easily...
