I personally share Hitomi's belief. Besically it means that in some
sunny reality the O.J. Simpson trial is just the creation of someone's
imagination. And did anyone ever think how contrived the names in the
Bobbit case sounded?

To me it is more than a belief, it is actually part of the way I was
brought up.

Most people have this belief, although it usually manifests itself in the
haunting fear that somewhere, somehow, another version of themselves is
having way more fun than they are.

Of course, this raises a problem. It means since all these crossover
universes actually existm that such things are actually possible, which
means that it is literally possible-however unlikely-to get revenged.
Not that it would stop me, of course.

This is very true, and one of the reasons I write the way I do. I know
that I am creating and adding to universes that are out there. It is very
necessary to maintain balances and equivilancies throughout the continuums
and to attempt to restructure them towards everntual growth.
Unfotunately, we are not the only nexus universes. Other nexus universes
are working on these ideas as well, or different ideas and can adversely
afffect some of the ones we are working on. In addition, they can affect
us in this universe.

For that matter, how can we even know that we are even a nexus universe -
the whole thing could be merely background so that a hero written by
someone else-reality can strut her/his stuff. Further thought along these
lines is left as an excercise for the reader in self madness ;)

Think of it in terms of evolution. If a nexus universe is destroyed, and
that nexus's energy goes to another nexus universe, then those within that
universe, especially those writters who alligned the energies, will
evolve. Fortunately it is hard to mitigate nexus universes. The others
are easy to destroy with just a stroke of a pen. They can be recreated
just as easily however.

This is why the ultimate munchkin super-duper evil overlord monster
ruler-of-3000 worlds fellow is not really a threat. He/She/It/whatever
can be defeated by the stroke of a pen, but not really gone forever, for
someone else will try to write them back into the picture.

Powergaming is fun, but is too easily defeated.

A reality has power, only if it is believable and people believed in it.
This is why say.. Hitomi's Alternate Reality version of Bubble Gum Zone is
way more likely to exist than the latest Chinese Sword Wielding Lemon Fic
by Jack Ji or Adam Barnes' Revenges End.

Anything is possible.
