I really like this story---it's quite good, to great when you got to
having the two exchange letters, etc.  I also really liked touches
like yin/yang sign on the bedroom door.

The premise also lets you retell the beginning story without excessive
repetition.

I do wonder how you're going to handle the other animal victims of the
springs, especially Ryouga; without the intellegence to find hot water
(rather rare in nature) it's hard to imagine he'd make it back to
Nerima unaided (then again, maybe Ryouga is the only one who could :-).
Maybe you need to give him an uncursed companion....

Or there could be an organized Junsynko (sp.) Aid Society in this
reality, since the springs are a lot more perilous, and their victims
in much more need of help until they are back with kin or friends.

You could also cheat by having the cursed form revert after some
number of hours or days.

(Another idea for others: change the curse so it only reverts after
time passes (fixed or variable, maybe influenced by something without
an immediate effect).)
