Heh, some of the more rabid Akane-fans might argue against that. ;)

Hmmm, yes, I can see this happening. Poor Akane, that must have
been *horribly* traumatic.

Unfortunately there is one small flaw that spoiled the story a bit
for me, namely Ranma's recount of the events that led to the
breakup. The whole thing seems mainly based on the fact that Akane
kept abusing Ranma, even though he stopped insulting or otherwise
angering her. This is one of the fanfic myths that *really* go on
my nerves: The notion that Akane habitually beats up Ranma for
little or no reason.

I don't know if this is generated by the Anime (never saw it -
have no intention to do so), or is this is something like the
Shampoo & Passion Spice thing, that simply popped up someday and
wouldn't die. Fact is that Akane only on rare occasions and in
extreme situatons ever resorted to violence against Ranma (finding
him in a tub with a naked Shampoo springs to my mind). His
insults more often than not simply evoke the response of her
turning her back, saying "Who cares about *your* opinion, anyway?"

Sorry, Suds-kun, but Akane continuing to beat up Ranma for no
reason whatsoever just doesn't make sense to me. If you came up
with another explanation or simply left it out, this would be
easier for me to accept.
