Subject: RAAC Moderator introductions

The following was posted on RAAC yesterday evening:

As most readers of the rec.arts.anime hierarchy should know by now,
Megazone officially stepped down as moderator of raa.creative at the
start of July, due to the increasing posting load interacting badly with
a sharp increase in responsibilties in his real job. He has passed to
me the job of coordinating a moderation team which will undertake to
continue the excellent job he has done over the past few years building
this group and its accompanying archive.

I will introduce the rest of the moderation team next week when things
have been more clearly worked out. Our first order of business will be
to deal with the posting backlog that built up before Zoner called a
moratorium. I will start flushing a few this weekend, with the team
kicking in Monday or Tuesday to get them out ASAP.

** NOTE :: DO NOT SUBMIT ANY POSTS AT THIS TIME **

Next week I will also be posting updated submission guidelines, and will
make an announcement when the system is ready for new submissions. Any
posts made before then will most likely be lost in the ether or deleted
largely unread. In the interim, any inquiries should be directed to the
following address (this will *not* be the submission address):
  RAAC coordinator: Brian Edmonds <raac-coordinator@cs.ubc.ca>

The archives will also be moving to a new site, and we have a number of
people interested in adding web interfaces and search engines, though
there will not be much on that front until early fall, I expect. Due to
unfortunate timing, I will be taking a couple weeks vacation starting in
about a week, so the archives will not be brought entirely up to date
until early September. Any authors who expect to submit continuing
series through August should contact me to be assigned a moderator
before I leave, or you will likely get stuck in the queue for another
couple weeks.

We could still use a few more usenet veterans to take on moderation
positions, particulary with the load increase I anticipate when things
go online again. If any qualified people didn't come forward due to the
archival responsibilities in Zoner's original call for volunteers,
please let me know. Things will be organized so that archive access
will be unneccessary for moderators, beyond assembling multi-part works
and uploading material to an "incoming" directory.

Thank you for your patience with the (admittedly slow) process over the
past months, and I look forward to working with you all to get things on
the road again.
