Sleepover 2 by PhoneyNT

    "Hey, Ranma!"

    "Wha--"

"Come on, wake up, you and me have work to do!"

"Who--?" Ranma muttered, annoyed. He opened his eyes and saw Nabiki
smiling softly at him from above him. She was actually quite attractive in
the morning light. "Wow...I never knew she could look this way...is that
lipstick?" he thought.

"Don't make me use this, Ranma," Nabiki said, revealing a glass of ice
water.

"I take it back," Ranma thought. He rolled out of the way and sat up.

Nabiki grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet.

"Come on, get ready! We've got a really busy day!"

"How come you're so grabby today?" Ranma growled, yanking his hand back.

Nabiki didn't answer, she just remained cool. She knew why, it was be-
cause today would be a rare day. She had dreamed of a chance to do this for
months now. She wasn't going to waste this great opportunity!

She settled for saying, "Just get going!" She sloshed the water at
Ranma's back and transformed him into a girl.

    "Hey! I was going!"

"I'm just...motivating you." Nabiki smiled winningly at her.

                                       -

"Are you out yet?" came Nabiki's voice through the door.

"Hold on, hold on!" Ranma yelled back, rinsing her body one more time.

"Hurry up! Forget the tub! We've got things to do!"

"Okay! Let me get some hot water!"

"Hurry up!" Nabiki yelled, getting a little impatient. She suddenly
calmed. "This is bad for my image," she thought silently.

"Damn! There's no hot water! What the f--"

"Okay then!" Nabiki said, walking in. "Come on! We've got to get things
together, and soon."

Ranma just sighed. "What're you so excited about?"

"Ranma, you should know after all this time that I'm not about to just
tell you."

    "How much?"

    "Fifty yen."

"I'll pay upstairs." Ranma brushed past Nabiki and walked to the up-
stairs.

                                       -

She handed the fifty yen to Nabiki, who grabbed it, then slapped Ranma's
hand.

    "What?"

"That's for being stupid. If I want you along, don't you think you'll
find out on your own what's going on? Come on! You'll need to really stretch
your dormant mind if you're going to help me to my satisfaction today. I bet
you would have paid five thousand yen just as easily as pocket change."

    "Why should I help you?"

"It's very important that I am satisfied, Ranma. Akane's anger is easily
sparked. Imagine what she'll say when I show her my log of your recent visits
to your other fiancees restaurants!"

"...what do you want done?" Ranma sighed, resigned.

                                       -

Ranma looked at Nabiki's blueprint of the house.

"This is our map. At all times if you can't remember the exact layout of
those parts of the house that you don't visit often, you can refer here."

    "What's this here?"

"The attention-getters. Just in case you need to get attention for what
you're trying to do."

Ranma looked at a squirt gun. "Keep that one away from Shampoo."

    "Will do."

This surprised Ranma. She looked quizzically at Nabiki.

"At least until this is done." she grinned.

"...right. What's this notebook just laying on the desk here? It's not
like you to just leave your stuff sitting around."

"That, my faithful friend," she said, causing Ranma's eyes to widen quiz-
zically, "is the most crucial part of this operation."

"What the hell kind of operation is this?"

"What else do you do when you're in the same house with a sleepover, Ran-
ma? What, am I not allowed to have fun?"

"Ah...I just never thought...you...of all people..." Ranma stammered.

"So you can do it and I can't?"

    "But that was revenge--"

"An ingenius revenge. Good for someone like you," Nabiki admitted. "I'm
impressed," Nabiki tried to say, but couldn't get the words out.

    "Ingenius?"

"Oh, please! You know you planned it to look that way...how else could it
end up like that?"

    "Like what?"

"Funny. By the way, our parents were not very happy with what they saw."

    "Great!"

"So, anyways, let's look at the first page."

"Nabiki...are you trying to trick me into something?"

Nabiki considered telling the truth, but settled for, "Maybe."

"Anyways," she continued, "let's get on with it."

                                       -

"Where did you get all this from?" Ranma whispered.

"I got some surveillience equipment from a guy they know only as Lawson.
Spy stuff, phone taps, and now this."

    "Where does it go?"

"Right there in the corner. Yes...in the shadow. Behind Ukyo, opposite
the window. Open the blinds to ensure enough light comes through."

Ranma creeped around under Nabiki's watchful eye and completed the tasks.

"Now...flip the switch. Don't worry about being in the way or anything.
Just turn it on and get out."

Ranma moved a small slider. "I don't see anything."

"Of course not. Put the microphone in the other corner on the same side
of the room."

"Done!" Ranma raised her voice a tiny bit and Akane moaned.

    "Let's get out of here."

                                       -

"Next, let's take a timeout and teach you how to act."

    "Act?"

    "Yes, of course."

"Embrace me and tell me you love me."

    "Uh..."

    "Do it!" Nabiki almost yelled.

    "Okay, okay!"

Ranma put her hands on Nabiki's shoulders and said, quite plainly, "I love
you."

    "That sucked."

    "Hey!"

"Add more feeling, and sound more nervous." she helped.

Ranma tried to comply, but she simply started sounding fake.

"Look, we'll teach you how to act. Then we're going to 'modify' the scene
a bit."

                                       -

Soun and Genma sat in a small smoky room, a shogi board between them.

"What to do, what to do?"

"Look, I'm as worried for my son as you are your daughter."

"But I brought her up better than that!"

"Maybe they really like each other."

"Don't give me that! Your playboy son is a pervert!" Soun spat.

    "Excuse me?" Genma said darkly.

"You heard me, damn it! And the only way to make this up is for those two
to be married!"

"...indeed. Come, let's devise a...method to get those two married."

                                       -

"That's right...just put it on. Right there...there, looking good."

Nabiki plugged in the heater and looked at where it hung over the door-
knob.

    "Okay, that's a rap!"

    "Let's go back and wait."

                                       -

"So, Ranma..." Nabiki said, trying to fill the space while they waited in
her room.

    "Yeah?"

    "Do you...like my sister?"

    "You're probably recording this."

"I pledge that if I am, it won't leave this room."

"Okay then. Well...she's not as annoying as at first...maybe I d--"

A loud beeping siren rang throughout the house.

    "There's the signal."

                                       -

Ukyo woke up and looked around. She sat up, inch by inch. A small beam
of light filtered through the space and touched the sensor in the corner.

    "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!"

Akane and Shampoo bolted awake. "What!"

    "I think there's a fire! Hear that?"

    "What? I can't hear you!"

    "I said, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG!"

    "Something WHAT?"

"Where's it coming from?" Shampoo wondered, "It's so loud I can't tell..."

Ukyo ran for the door, but when she grabbed the doorknob, it almost scald-
ed her hand. "THE DOORKNOB'S HOT!" she yelled right in Akane's ear. As she
did, she caught a strange whiff...that of urine. But no time to recommend the
Tendo girl wash her hair...

She threw open the window and leaped through, with the two other girls
following her.

                                       -

    "It's c-cold out here..."

"Tomboy right! Let go inside!" Shampoo cocked an ear at the sound of the
alarm shutting off.

The three girls, dressed in their flimsy nightclothes, started moving to-
wards the door. Akane tried to hide her condition, Shampoo tried to wipe off
the mess on her hand, and Ukyo gyrated horribly.

    "Say, Shampoo...what is that stuff?"

"Is none of urinate-in-bed girl's business!"

    "I DID NOT UR--!"

    "Oh, so?"

"THIS says I didn't!" Akane rushed the Amazon and slammed her against a
tree. They began to grapple furiously. A passing jogger nearly died of blood
loss through his nose at the sight.

Shampoo was bashing Akane's head against the ground when Ukyo separated
them. "I can't get in, you idiots! We're stuck out here!"

    "What?"

    "I said--"

"I know that! Well, Kasumi is probably shopping, and my dad might be with
her, but there's no way Ranma and Nabiki could have slept through all that!"

"Maybe they didn't hear the bell?"

The girls went up to the front doorstep and rang the doorbell. When there
was no answer, Shampoo and Ukyo began to argue about whose idea it was to leap
out of the window during a false fire alarm.

Akane stormed off around the house. When the two combatants saw her, they
followed behind her, yelling, "Wait! Where are you going?"

"We can get in from underneath, right here through this hole."

    "I'm not going in there!"

"It's perfectly dry. But if you want to stay out here, be my guest."

                                       -

"Perfectly dry my foot," Ukyo moaned. Akane strained to reach the running
hose. "But who would leave a hose on like this?"

    "How should I know?"

"Shampoo found way in, girls coming?"

    "Yeah!"

The three girls climbed out into the laundry room. "See, I told you!"
Akane smiled happily. Suddenly, there was a bright flash, and when it faded,
Nabiki and Ranma stood there, grinning widely.

"Gee...I hope this didn't make you girls...mud!" laughed Nabiki.

"I don't know Nabiki, I can see Akane's pretty pissed off right now!"

    "Wet's the matter, you three?"

"So...this is all your doing, you two?" Akane said, nonplussed.

    "Maybe, maybe not..."

"Ranma, this is all your fault!"

    "Says who?"

"You just wait, you'll see what happens to jerks like you!"

Akane brushed past him rudely, and the other two girls followed suit.

    "Well..." Ranma wondered.

                                       -

"We'll g-get them..." Akane shivered, crushing the microphone which had
caused all this in the first place.

    "But how?" Ukyo asked.

    "I don't know...let's think of something..."

"What noise is that?" Shampoo interjected.

    "What noise?"

They all listened and could hear stifled moans and yelps.

    "I don't know...hey! It's saying something!"

"OH! Nabiki!" the voice yelled. It sounded suspiciously like Ranma's.

"Ranma!" the three girls yelled, jumping up and running to Nabiki's room.
Akane flung open the door and was surprised to see Ranma and Nabiki sitting
down across the room from each other. Nabiki was writing and Ranma was read-
ing.

"And what, pray tell, is the reason for this intrusion?" Nabiki asked,
seemingly annoyed.

    "Oh...sorry. Never mind."

They closed the door. "Whew," Akane thought, "I thought that pervert was
..."

    "Nabiki! Ahhhhh...!"

    "Ranma! OH...OH!!!"

Akane turned back around and flung the door wide again.

"Something wrong, Akane?" an annoyed Ranma asked.

    "Nothing...just thought I heard something."

    "Well, not from here."

Akane closed the door, the moans started once more, she burst back in, and
was greeting by a water balloon to the face. "Stop looking in on us!"

"Why you little--" Akane yelled, getting ready to punch Ranma's head
through the wall.

"Uh uh, sister. You break my wall, you pay for it to be fixed."

"Uh..." Akane looked sheepish as she withdrew once more from the room.

                                       -

Akane put on her robe and slippers and prepared to exit the bathroom when
Ranma entered.

"You pervert!" she cried, swinging her foot into action. He dodged it and
got right in her face.

"I'm sorry for walking in on you. But I have something to say that just
can't wait."

    "Three seconds."

"I Love You," he said nervously, in such a manner you could hear the cap-
ital letters of each word.

The words impacted Akane like three roundhouse kicks. Her entire world
suddenly came together. The bathroom setting swirled into oblivion or seemed
to because of her palpitating heart.

"You...do? Oh, Ranma!" she cried, throwing her arms around him. Suddenly
she had a sobering thought. "This isn't some kind of trick, is it?"

"Trick? Well..er, no! Of course not! Would I lie about this?" Ranma
replied glibly, giving his hand buzzer one more twist. He prepared to get her
in the worst hand-buzzer spot possible, the back of her neck. He grinned as
he swung his hand down.

His hand didn't make it down. His joint had locked just before impact.
Akane was kissing him. The first second felt like an hour, the second felt
like a day.

"I...I can't do it...she's so cute..." he thought around his numbed mind.

"Oh, Akane!" he whispered, and then they kissed again. Just a simple and
long-lasting kiss. He realized with something like regret that he hadn't
admitted his love to her before. In fact, before now, he didn't even know
that there was love to begin with.

He embraced her tightly, and hugged her to him. The hand buzzer went off
directly below Akane's neck, on her spine.

Akane felt the buzzing sensation, then a horrible persistant tingling cen-
tering on her back.

"Ow! What was--" she started, before seeing Ranma frantically trying to
remove the hand-buzzer.

    "Nothing! Nothing! Noth--"

"RANMA! I...HATE...YOU!" she screamed with fury. She ripped one wall of
the bathtub from the floor and cracked it over his head. He made no attempt
to move. He just sat there and looked at the floor.

Akane just kept smacking him. The floor of the bathroom was covered in
water from the tub, and a little blood from Ranma's head. Every blow made him
more and more angry as he tried to explain...

"YOU STUPID TOMBOY! I DIDN'T MEAN TO--"

                                       -

Nabiki roused Ranma from his unconsciousness.

"Wake up, Ranma! I'm going to need your help!"

Ranma bolted up immediately. "Forget you!" he yelled, "I don't want to
help you anymore!"

"Oh no, you don't get it. They're after us. If they get me, they get you
too. And you don't--"

"All right, all right, but not for you! For me only!"

"Whatever. Akane gave you a pretty mean beating."

"Yeah! Who'd have thought she'd care so much? That stupid tomboy! I
can't believe I even said I loved her in the first place! Who could love that
dumb girl?"

    "You don't mean that, Ranma."

    "Yes I do!"

"Fine. Look, we've got to go and we've got to go now. Let them simmer
down a little."

    "Hey! What's the noise?"

"They're fighting because Akane tomboyishly tore the side off the tub."

    "Oh no! I gotta help--"

"Forget it! We're outta here till this boils ove--why do you always do
that, Ranma?" she sighed at the staircase Ranma had just bolted down.

                                       -

"Leave Akane alone, you two!" Ranma yelled at Ukyo and Shampoo, who were
dealing Akane a rude beating.

"I don't need your help, Ranma! Stay out of this!"

"Yes you d--" Ranma started to say, but was interrupted by a thermos.

When he looked up from the ground, he could see Akane squaring off against
the other fiancees. Akane had something in her hands.

"Shampoo...mighty Amazon warrior...afraid of a little water?" she grinned,
pulling out a water balloon. She hurled it at the Amazon, who dodged, then
screamed at the sight of another balloon headed straight at her face.

Ranma launched himself through the air and pushed Shampoo out of the way
just in time.

"Ranma! Why are you helping her?"

    "You know why!"

    "Aargh!"

Nabiki came downstairs to find the living room a sight. The walls and
furniture were all drenched. She looked to her right to see her parents and
Kasumi just coming back in. Ranma caught Akane's last balloon in his hands.
Shampoo hugged him tight and squealed. Ukyo just stood there wondering what
to do.

Soun cleared his eyes. The living room was a living hell. Akane and Ukyo
stood innocently, Nabiki was on the stairwell, and Ranma was clutching Shampoo
in one hand and a water balloon in the other.

"Explain," he said to Ranma, his head expanding dangerously.

    Nabiki whistled innocently.

                                       -

                               to be concluded

                                       -
