Ah! Another Doctor Who fan amongst the rabble scum!! *grin*
Why, yes... however did you guess? ;>

Eagerly awaiting the new movie on May 14... have you seen the Fox
preview yet? Looks nice.

Haven't seen the preview...

It's on two or three web sites, as a .mov file;
<http://www.brad.ac.uk/ubu/club-soc/culttv/drwho.html> is the URL I've
got off the top of my newsreader. :)

Yes, the one flaw in an otherwise great series (the rather cheesy nature
of the special effects) should be corrected. Though I hope they don't
change the feel of the show too much. ;) (For example, they need to keep
the sort of cheesy grinding sound effect for the TARDIS' phasing in and
out)

But I always *loved* the cheesy effects! *grin*

Depends on the episode. ;) And the Fox trailer ends with the old
materialization sound, so it looks like they're keeping it. :> Gave a
thrill to the old heart, it did...

Yeah, the episodes that Douglas Addams did were pretty good, weren't
they?

Uh-huh. Now if he would only novelize them, as something other than
Dirk Gently...

Hey, the Dirk Gently stories are GOOD. ;)

Never read any of them. I didn't like Adams' books, although the Doctor
Who episodes he *contributed to* (since they got edited after that) were
good.

I enjoyed the first couple of Hitchhiker's books, because they were fresh
and funny; the later ones went downhill, as he was rehashing things over
and over.

b) As I recall, all the episodes he wrote were during the Fourth Doctor's
era...and the MAJORITY of the Tom Baker stuff was better than the
rest. ;) Adams' scripts were just the best of the lot. :)

Actually, I disagree here. I think "Genesis of the Daleks" was one of the
best Tom Baker serials, and it wasn't an Adams one.

"Genesis" was one of my favorite Tom Baker eps; "Deadly Assassin" was
another, and the Key to Time season was another (though weak in spots). I
have trouble naming any of the Doctors as my favorite, though; *all* of
them have had superb episodes. "Rememberance of the Daleks," for example,
is IMHO the best Dalek story since "Genesis," and probably equals it.
