I could go into a whole long war with you as to why I don't like the Star
Trek universe, but I don't have the time or the energy.

So... how can one write a Star Trek crossover that doesn't make use
of time travel or transdimensional gateways to bring the universes
together? I just had one idea:
Star Trek and Wings of Honneamise.
I'm serious! First contact with a world just beginning space
exploration... potential violations of the Prime Directive.... Only thing
is, the writing had better be really really good.
Panda? Care to do this one?
However, remember, the first contact is for species just discovering
*warp*, not space exploration itself.
Wow. An intriguing plot. But I'm just getting my feet wet in the anime ocean
and have not seen Wings of Honneamise (though I've heard the artwork is
pretty good). BG Crash! and Lodoss are next on my list. Like Damon, I'm not a
Don't watch BG Crash. Trust me, *PLEASE!!* Save yourself the torture.
     But, WoH is *EXCELLENT*.
big fan of Star Trek itself, but some of the stories were cool. <sigh> I'm
still trying to get Part 2 of Dark Traveler jump started, where the hero
goes looking for the clues that will hopefully lead him to his father's
assassins. But the truth of who they were will unravel a mystery that spans
the entire universe; the mystery of creation itself. Might actually be
parallel to the Star Trek/Wings cross-over you're suggesting. Chapter 1 is
on the remailer at dt1@ranma.net if you like sci-fi. Also check out Blue
Lightning by Damon Casale if you haven't already. Now there's someone who
has a good grip on the elements you are referring to :)
I said you, because I really like your writing style and quality.
