Well.  I don't think Ranma marrying Akane would lead to a normal 
life--simply because, as is proved in the past, the Nerima folk tend to 
be strong-willed people (ok, minus Soun and Genma for the most part).  
Certainly Cologne wouldn't give up, just because they got married, and so 
follows Shampoo, and thusly Mousse.  Ryoga'll stick around (he's got 
nowhere else to go...home? it's deserted.)  Ukyo'll stick around, 'cause 
she's Ranma's friend, and I bet she'd think that she's still got half a 
chance, what with the amount of fighting that goes on. And so follows 
Akari and Konatsu, Tsubasa (invisibly)....Kuno...well, we've seen how 
persistent they are.  Besides, Ranma only chases after Shampoo, as 
someone said, to heal his pride.  You'll notice that he can't bring 
himself to say "I love you" to Shampoo...and as one fanfic pointed out (I 
think it was Putting Your Heart In The Right Place,) if Ranma *did* love 
Shampoo, then she wouldn't need magic and etc.... now would she?
