BTW, any particular reason why you don't like Star Trek?

Didn't like the actors - didn't like the scripts - didn't like the special
effects (on this one I'll say this, I firmly belive that for the budget
they did have they could have done a lot better).

I didn't like William Shatner either. But I did like Leonard Nimoy and
DeForest Kelley. The scripts? Most were bad. My favorite was "The
Enterprise Incident". Kirk got a taste of the "Vulcan death grip", and a
chance to change sides. Well done. Just about the only one, though.

The special effects? Were workable. Maybe they could have done better.
But I can live with Doctor Who quality.

Rodenberry annoyed for a long time - That one I never figured out.

Another big thing that just irked the hell out of me was how many people
I knew/know think it was just the coolest thing to ever be created. (and
most normal people think Deadheads are bad?! SHEESH!) I've worked a few
cons with a friend of mine over the years, believe me some of these folks
(you know the one who *MAKE* their costumes so they rival the Universal
Studios Costume dept, and can recite the Klingon dictionary backwards -
I've met 'em) have attitudes out the wazoo! If it isn't Star Trek it's
crap.

The *concept* was brilliant, if very poorly executed.

Jim Kirk was a jerk. Excuse me, James Tiberius Kirk was a jerk.
Bones had one line (he's..... - you figure it out)

One more. "I'm a doctor, not a ...".

Scotty could never finsh anything unless it had to be yesterday

They wrote the scripts like that. When he got a chance to reappear in the
TNG episode "Relics", they did him justice.

Spock was annoying.

Sometimes. Take a look at his acting in "The Enterprise Incident". Much
better.

Actors : William Shatner can not act. period.

Agreed. But I still like the show.

Lenard Nemoy could not act then (hell of an actor now, tho.)

It wasn't him, it was the scripts.

DeForest Kelly should have stuck to being villians in the old
                westerns.

I thought he did a pretty good job for what he had to work with. The
scripts never defined his character too well. The books did a much better
job of that.

And tribles? They were the dumbest thing to EVER come along.

:) Agreed.

Do you want me to go on, believe me I can. ;)

Nah, think that's enough. Besides, I want to see how you react to me
agreeing with you. 8^)

(thank god for BattleStar Galactica)

"It's the cheesiest!" I watched BattleStar Galactica for a while when I
was younger. The special effects were better, BUT the stories left much
to be desired. The *concept* was brilliant here, too. But the lead actor
who played Buck Rogers I wasn't too fond of. (don't know his real name)
