I always liked the term 'timeless' for this - fits anywhere in the series
but doesn't do anything major to story plot lines.  (ie Ranma and Akane go
out on a date.  But dont decide to get married the next day)

Hmmm I like that.  So now I can add Parallel and Timeless to my list.
